Overseas Chinese In The View Of Sino-Russian Relations

It has been more than 150 years since the mid-19th century when a large number of Chinese went to Russia to make the livelihood.But there are a few academic thesises about the Overseas Chinese in Russia now,which is mainly because of the research difficulties that Russian Chinese were instable and discontinuous in relation to sophisticated and inconsistent international environment,Sino-Russian relations, especially the vicissitude of Russia's domestic situation.Based on the skeleton of historical transition of Russia Overseas Chinese, summarizing the characteristics of Russia Overseas Chinese in different historical periods,this thesis aims to find out the relation between the Russian Political, Sino-Russian relations and Russia Overseas Chinese's lives.This thesis also attempts to study the evolution of Russia Overseas Chinese,which is influenced by the dramatic changes of domestic politics and international relations in the country of residence.This thesis draws a conclusion that Russia Overseas Chinese made positive contribution to the Siberia railroad,agricultural and mineral in the Far East of Russia. Although the anti-Chinese bill has not promulgated,Russia(Soviet Union) also promulgated policies against Chinese at times.When Russia's domestic political got changing or economic situation worsening,there were many activities of anti-Chinese. Because of the frequent changes of political situation,comparing to Southeast Asia or the United States,the Russia Overseas Chinese are of mainly short-term residence, instability,and dispersed.
