The Study Of The Construction And Changes Of ASEAN Identity

Since its establishment in 1967,Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has gone through 41 years.During this process,the Association of Southeast Asian Nations has scored achievements in various fields.Using some constructivist theory and methology of international relations,taking the key documents of ASEAN as analysis discourse and ASEAN-China relations as case study, this paper aims to systematically explore the changing and formation of ASEAN identity.The paper includes three parts.The first part is the introduction of the research topic,the methodology and literature review.The second part consists of four chapters. Chapter one defines the key concept.Chapter two and chapter three study the changes in the content of ASEAN identity in the perspective of ASEAN idea identity and ASEAN identifying.Chapter four is summarized the continuity of the changes in the content of ASEAN identity.The conclusion part suggests some further topics and the weakness of this paper.In short,the paper concludes that ASEAN's identity has been, is being and will be in the process of continiously changing and formation with changes of other factors within and out of ASEAN.
