The Construction Of Vietnam's ASEAN Identity: Roles And Policies

With the continuous development of the World Order and the shift of power center,East Asia has increasingly become the competitive stage of the Great Powers.Vietnam,a rising rookie in Southeast Asia,has played an increasingly important role in ASEAN and even internationally,and has made remarkable achievements in the reform,opening up and development in recent years.This article mainly analyzes the different stages of the development of relations between Vietnam and ASEAN to define changes in Vietnam's ASEAN identity and changes in its domestic and foreign policies.Since Vietnam joined ASEAN in 1995,it first quickly clarified the current international situation and tried every effort to ease relations with ASEAN countries to establish a positive and friendly role of Vietnam and put itself to the ASEAN Community construction with its active participation.Secondly,after the gradual stabilization of relations between Vietnam and ASEAN,Vietnam promotes the development of the ASEAN Community by leveraging its own advantages and using regional convenience to achieve the final domination of the ASEAN regional economic and security mechanism.Establish and establish Vietnam's own ASEAN "Regional Power" role and identity.
