Purpose of the study: To see and reveal the form and law of development of the psychology of college students specializing in police. To know the correlation and interrelationship between police physical education and mental health level of the students. To acquire scientific theory and methodology of cultivating talents in politics and law academies.Methods of the study: documentation method, mathematical statistics and questionnaire method. 597 students from four colleges in three provinces are traced and observed for two and half years by means of questionnaire of The Symptom Check List 90(SCL-90) and Related Affecting Factors on Psychological Health. SPSS11.5 is analyzed and tested in the way of statistics and service. 330 students whose major is not in police are questioned, and the result of the questionnaire is used to assistant the conclusion of the study.Result of the study: In the first test, the police majored students of 05 grades are more compulsive, hostile and illiberal when compared with the average students in our country. They are more intended to have psychotic factors except for their somatization factors. While in the second test, their crankiness is slightly higher than, if not as the same as, the average students; and their symptoms of compulsion and hostility are distinctly higher than the average. However, their other psychoses are distinctly lower than the average, namely, their somatization factors, interpersonal perception, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety disorder and phobia are lower. The result of the second test shows that the abnormality of every factor is obviously lower than its related factor in the test one. The changes of obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety disorder, crankiness and phobia are the most sensitive. The order of the factors that affect the psychological formation of the police specialized students is as follows: physical training, exercise training, sexuality, other factors, age, self-cultivation and major. The main factors are physical training and exercise training. After physical training, the sensation of happiness and annoyance differ clearly between the police majored students and the average majored students. However, there is no significant difference between their tiredness.Conclusion of the study: College students specializing in Police have embodied the basic physical qualities related to the profession. Police physical education has greatly improved and enhanced their mental health level. Teaching and training of police physical education correlates closely with the mental health development of the target.
