American Surrounding Strategy Towards Russia From The Perspective Of NATO's Eastward Expansion After The Cold War

As legacy of the Cold War,NATO was not disappear with the end of the Cold War, but even showed its strong vitality under the impetus of the United States.After the Cold War, the United States was actively promoting strategy of NATO's Eastward Expansion to dominate the world through filling the strategic vacuum,compressing the survival space of Russian and curbing the rise of Russia.With more than ten-year attempts,the United States has been successfully expanding its touching to Central and Eastern Europe around Russia, Transcaucasia and Central Asia,which result in Russian's fear of being surrounded.Faced with the dilemma of geostrategy,Russia enhanced its overall national strength domestically and actively expanded its diplomatic space internationally in order to break the strategic siege of the U.S.This circumstance forms strategic confrontation between the United States and Russia,and it brings great variables to the World situation.As a big country of the Eurasia, China is inevitably influenced by the above confrontation.Therefore,China should size up the situation and take responsible measures to avoid disadvantages and get benefits.
