On The Moral Character Construction Under The Scope Of The Socialist Morality

Proposed on the basic of the realistic status of social morality and the actual requirements of the socialist morality construction, the moral character construction is a new issue. Because of neglecting the basal effect of moral character in the course of socialist morality construction, the construction of public virtues, family virtues and professional ethics hasn't been well implemented and the social morality status hasn't been remarkably improved. However, the normal running of socialist market economy and the stable of the society need the maintenance of good moral character; moreover, the fact that socialist market economy loses touch with socialist market economy requires the construction of moral character. The author explores the way of moral character construction in the thesis and hopes that the thesis could offer a novel idea for other researchers to do a further study.The thesis is divided into six parts as following: The first part introduces the status quo of the research on the subject and the research purpose, methods, significance, focal and difficult points, novel aspects and the aspects still need further research. The second part introduces the concept of the moral character construction. Firstly, the author defines its concept and analyzes the differences among moral character construction, moral education and morality self-cultivation. Secondly, the author describes moral character construction's three features: open, synergistic and persistent, then makes discriminations between moral character and other relevant concepts. Finally, the author analyzes the factors which would influence the moral character's development. The third part is a review of the history of the moral character construction since the establishment of People's Republic of China. The new century is set as a demarcation point, before which we emphasizes moral trait education. And since the new century, we strengthen the moral character construction. On the basis of reviewing, the author analyzes the reasons why the moral character construction should be studied under the scope of the socialist morality. In the fourth part, the author analyzes the value and necessity of the moral character construction. The value lies in impelling the socialist morality construction, enhancing the direction and efficiency of moral education, promoting the sound development of moral character. And the necessity consists in the realistic requirements of the socialist economic construction, the socialist legal system and institutions construction and the socialist cultural construction. Besides, the author also describes the status quo of the moral character and analyzes the reasons behind the curtain. In the fifth part, the author explores the theoretical frame and the way to implement of the moral character construction from the angle of individual and society. For individuals, moral character education and morality self-cultivation could be carried out. For society, a series of institution constructions, direction of public opinion, social events and etc could be conducted. In the sixth part, the author describes a future tendency from four aspects of the moral character construction: the development of personality, the construction of civic virtues, the satisfaction of individual's rational requirements and human's all-round development.
