Lickona's Theory Of New Character Education And Individual Moral Education In China

This paper attempts to introduce and explore the essence of lickona's theory on character education, and then exams the status of moral education, trying to analyze the problems of the individual moral education .Finally, I'll give some advice to our moral education from the view of lickona's theory character education.There are three parties in my paper.In the first part, I'll introduce the lickona's theory of character education in general. First of all, I'll go back to the history of character education in America and introduce the basic theory of character education. Secondly, I'll study the main content, methods and characteristics of the theory .Finally, there are some evaluation to the theory.In the second part I will focus on the education of individual morality in our country. First, I'll go back to the ancient times to research the history of moral education in our country .secondly, I'll research the individual morality education. Third, I'll point out the problems of our moral education and examine the reason.The last Part is the result of this paper. I'll summaries the inspiration to the individual moral education from the lickona's theory.We must adhere to the traditional principles of ethics can be taught and the core values. But reform the way of education and innovate the contents .we should give great importance to the overall values and improve the ability to practice ethics. We should explore the living spaces of moral education and building our community.
