Sima Guang’s Moral View And Its Enlightenment To The Construction Of Citizen Morality In The New Era

The construction of citizen morality is a systematic project of our country.To strengthen the construction of citizen morality in the new era should not only absorb the excellent parts of Chinese traditional culture,but also keep pace with The Times.Sima Guang was a famous politician,historian and litteratorian in the Northern Song Dynasty of China.He lived in four dynasties,namely,the Benzong,the Yingzong,the Shenzong and the Zhe Zong.He wrote a lot in his life,which contained very rich resources of moral thoughts.Due to the attraction of his moral thought and personality charm,as well as based on the needs of carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture and the requirements of building a harmonious socialist society and other factors,I plan to take Sima Guang’s moral view and its enlightenment to the construction of citizen morality in the new era as the topic of my graduation thesis.People have subjective initiative,and the formation of their ideas is restricted by objective environmental conditions.Therefore,this paper first summarizes the social situation of the Northern Song Dynasty from the political,economic,military and cultural four aspects,in this context,Sima Guang’s moral view emerged at the historic moment.His moral values include honesty as the first,thrift as the cultivation of morality,benevolence and justice as the first,and gender as the other.The family morality is the organic unity of the virtue of parents,the virtue of husband and wife,and the virtue of children with respect and integrity.Loyalty to the king and patriotism,to the people as this,honest for the morality of the official three main content.First,we should strengthen the personal moral cultivation,enhance our own moral realm,and establish the personal moral concept of the new era,which is to treat people honestly,cultivate morality by thrift,value righteousness rather than profit,and sacrifice ourselves to others.Second,in the new era,we should vigorously promote family virtues and promote the construction of a harmonious family.Specifically,parents should teach each other by words and deeds,give good guidance to each other,husband and wife should respect each other and observe their own virtues,children should be filial to their parents and advise them to mend their ways.Third,we must adhere to the code of professional ethics,promote the healthy and coordinated development of all undertakings,and train socialist successors who are always patriotic,dedicated,people-oriented,and people-serving.A country without virtue would not prosper;a man without virtue would not stand.General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the construction of civic morality.Morality is not only a noble quality that a person should possess,but also an internal driving force for the prosperity of a country and a nation.To strengthen moral construction,we must insist on innovation and development while inheriting the tradition,and strive unremittingly for the early realization of socialist modernization and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
