After the third plenary session of the 11^th central committee, China introduced reform and opening policies .The rural reform, beginning from the introduction of the household contract responsibility system, has fully fired the enthusiasm of Chinese farmers and made tremendous achievements in the rural economy. Along with the development and opening of the Pudong, Shanghai city has grown at a very rapid rate . These result in great social change of rural community in Shanghai suburb. The residence change is one of important contents of social changes, which including some aspect , for example , house shape, quantity, quality, location, laws and regulations. Urban Housing in today's world as one of the people's livelihood, has been the concern of academics and attention.In the binary social system, opposed to urban resident, the research of farmers ' house research is relatively weak.Basis of the academic research, this essay seeks to analyze the history of the famers' house in shanghai suburban since the reform and open, and combinate of the residential-related satistics, and explore the change of farmers' in this period.Because farmer residence change have mang aspcets, for example, reasons, tendency, problems, corresponding revelation . There is not possibilty of expounding all the changes. So the thesis only select several main aspect to research, including expressions , reasons,problems and revelation.The thesis structure is as follow:The first part is introduction. It mainly summerizes the title selected for the thesis, which comprise the significance of the title selected, the analysis of present research situation and introduction of the train of thought.The second part totally describes the farmer residence change in Shanghai suburb since 1978. It has frame-like summary to the countryside residence changes in Shanghai suburb. It takes three important objects , which are residence form, housing conditions, house positions. When expounding change of the residence forms, it elaborates the farmer housing change from the one-story via building to the villa. In the housing conditions, mainly analysis three important targets, which consist of per person average and mount of famer residence, and per household account of house. In the housing position aspect, it analyze the choose residence of the farmer living in Taqiao viliage, Tangxing town, which choice to purchase commerial house in the city rather than to construct the rual house.The third part tries to analyze the reasons for the farmer housing change in the bacekground of social change, which main method from the demography,the sociology, the economy and politics .From the demographical and social method, the growth of the farmer residence results from addition rural population ,rise of young people proportion in countryside, the aging of the rural population. In opposite, farmer family structure reduced causes the famer house demand to rise. As the farmer life style increaslingly urbaniz, the famer house need high quality. From the ecnomic angle, peasants' income have a strong impact on famers housing. Finally we should not neglect the great effects on the adjustment which the government have important farmer housing policy.The fourth part attempt to uncover serious problems about famer residence in Shanghai suburb countryside, and proposes the contermeasures according with current reality to help revelation. These problems are as follow: poor house quality , loose gruond, low construct level, serious occuping cultivated land, spatial arrangement in a mess, large area but unfit ,etc . The three major problems need to solve. First, the investment of peasant household is overheated, which affects the normal farmer life and rural product. Second ,the farmer residence are very scattered, and the rate of public utility is lower. Third, average area of the famer residence is large, but the vacancy rate is high as well. In view of this kinds of problems, the corresponding Countermeasures need to take. These are: first ,change farmer house idea, expland investment channel for the famer, guide correct investment consciousness; second, strengthen the countryside house plan, privoide farmer with house design service and strictly manage house construction; third, construct new farmer viliage, encourage farmers to enter cities to buy houses and speed up the countryside urbanization.The last is conclusion part. It retrospects the residence change performances in rural area since the reform and open policy, elaborates that the farmer residence change is a minitature of social change in Shanghai suburb in rural area. It propose to improve farmer house in need to promote modern transformation in rural community.
