Research On Agreement On Technical Barriersto Trade And China's Food Safety Legislation

Food safety has a direct bearing on human life. And it has attracted more and more attentions in the world, and has become an important factor in international trade. After entering WTO, China has paid higher attentions to its food safety. China's agricultural product and food export could be even harder and more complicated. Technical barriers to trade from the developed countries and food safety accidents frequently occur in China exerted much negative impact on China's food export.Making analysis on the significant role of the core content of TBT Agreement in the field of food safety legislation, I hereby suggest that China should make use of TBT Agreement to perfect our food safety legislation while performing our TBT Agreement duty. Thus China will be brought in line with international standards, China's food safety could be guaranteed, trade frictions could be reduced and food export could go well.
