| In recent 10 years, the village community of Inner Mongolian pastoral area has gone through great change. Taking Oboo Gacha of Ar-horchin Banner as an example, the author studies the influence and effect ofimplement of the household contract responsibility system (1996——1998) upon the social change of Inner Mongolian pastoral community. In this thesis, by combining the first-hand information from anthropological field work with the materials from previous researches done by scholars, the author analyzes the tremendous social change of the Inner Mongolian pastoral community in the fields of social strata, interpersonal relationship and the composition of population, and puts forward that the cohesion and the relative closeness of the community has been weakened greatly.This paper consists of four parts: introduction, main body, conclusion and bibliography.The introduction presents the significance and value of the subject, research methods of the thesis and related achievements on the topic. Chapter 1 briefly introduces the location, natural environment and social situation of Oboo Gacha.Chapter 2 describes the situation of pasture management of Oboo Gacha before implement of the household contract responsibility system and the process of implement of the household contract responsibility policy at Oboo Gacha in 1997.Chapter 3 talks about the situation of pasture management and the community change of Oboo Gacha after implement of the household contract responsibility system and analyzes internal connection between implement of the household contract responsibility system and the social change of Inner Mongolian pastoral community.The part of conclusion summarizes the basic argument put forward in the thesis, and points out that the social change of pastoral community has a great influence not only on the economy, politics and culture of Inner Mongolian pastoral area, but also on the whole community of local Mongols in Inner Mongolia.
