The family law in Taiwan was implemented since 1930 to the present, which have already experienced more than ten times of amendment, involving a wide range of content. Due to the limits of paper length and personal ability, this article try to use "gender equality principle "and "the principle of best interests of the children "as the two main lines to grasp the focus of previous amending the law content, parse the background and the reasons for the amendment, and evaluate the progress and shortcomings after amendment. We are hoping we can seize the value of its revised heritage from the process of the Taiwan family law change, to explore the development trend of family law with a view to provide some reference points in some degree for the future family law establishment in Mainland China.This article outlines the first part of a whole series of amendments to Taiwan's family law section of the profile; the second part is Taiwan's family law to be amended as detailed analysis of all previous amending the law to follow the principle of gender equality and the principle of best interests of the children, the content embodied in the institution of marriage, matrimonial property system, the adoption system, the parental rights system and so on. The third part analyzes the theoretical principles of the amendment of the family law and evaluates the contents of all previous amending of the family law. After the amending many times, the family law meets the requirement of social development, follows the tide of world development, however, After several amending the law, there are still inadequacies; The last part of the article gives a brief analysis of the history of development of the family law in Mainland China firstly, As well as gives the evaluation of the current family law.we hope to learn the advanced experience of Taiwan's amending the law, to avoid its shortcomings and to provide some recommendations with a view to amending the law in mainland China in the future.
