| The social structure in China changes greatly in the wake of the unceasing development of institutional reform and market economy. The development of the society is on the way of diversification. Meanwhile, the integration of the traditional state power under the planned economy system and the social power is gradually broken. State power gradually returns to the society. In such a new situation, Chinese citizens'democratic political consciousness and social autonomy gradually enhance. Various social groups not only need to express their political wills, but also has a strong desire to participate in the management of state affairs and social activities. Because of this, the construction of urban grassroots democracy has become a hot topic in academic interests. In view of the situation that the development of urban grassroots democracy in China is in the starting stage and there exist many difficulties and problems worthy of attention and being solved, the urgent issue is how to strengthen the construction of urban basic democracy.Sixty years'practice since the founding of the people's republic of China has proved that the construction of urban grassroots democracy is closely related to the development of the harmonious society, the process of the socialist market economy and the party's ruling position. This paper, starting from the urban community positioning, aims to analyze the construction of urban grassroots democracy systematically and expounds the characteristics and significance of urban democracy. Also in this paper, the causes of urban grassroots democracy problems are analyzed and relative principles and approaches are proposed. |
