Correctly handle contradictions among the people has been the subject of our political life,is also an important theoretical and practical issues.30 years of reform and opening, with the restructuring of our society and social interests of the profound changes in structure, China is in a critical period of reform and development, people's internal contradictions have become more complex and prominent.Theory and practice of socialist countries demonstrate that whether can correctly understand and handle the contradictions among the people,related to the consolidation of the ruling party status,related to the rise and fall of the socialist cause,related to people's well-being.Therefore, to correctly understand and handle the contradictions among the people, has important theoretical and practical significance for the well-off society and building a harmonious socialist society.This thesis is divided into four parts:The first part, described the basic theory of contradictions among the people and the development of this theory in the new era, discusses the relations between contradictions among the people and building a socialist harmonious society.The second part focuses on the main features and the form of outstanding performance of the contradictions among the people in the new era in economic, political,cultural and social fields.The third part analysies the main source of contradictions among the people as well as the causes in economic, political,cultural, and social areas.The fourth part,on the basis of the correct understanding of the contradictions among the people,offers strategy and measures to correctly handle contradictions among the people:first is take economic construction as the center,develop the productive forces vigorously; second is deal with the relations between effciency and fairness well,maintain social justice;third is strengthening democracy and legal system construction,to protect the rights of people as masters;fourth is strengthen the building of spiritual civilization and improve overall quality of all the people; fifth is strengthen the governance capability of the party and raise the level of resolving social contradictions.
