Because of Reforming and Opening up, our society is suffering transformation. In the moment our country is in transformation from traditional agriculture to industrialization; from traditional rural society to modern urban society and from the planned economy to social market economy. Socio-economic transformation in our country has posed a severe challenge to the morality. The values of diversification lead s to a situation that it is difficult to choose one from the diverse values. All of the above eventually lead to current status of China's moral embarrassment. Moral development does not necessarily change with Social Economic Development, however it results in the morality's decline."Running Fan phenomenon" occurred in WenChuan earthquake is a classic case of moral decline. The thesis ponders on the phenomenon. The thesis criticizes Fan's words and deeds, who escaped alone in the earthquake regardless of his students. The thesis tryies to find the reasons of the moral dilemma and propose some suggestion for it.In the first part, the thesis introduces the "Running Fan phenomenon" briefly, and explains the historical background of this phenomenon. Contemporary China's reforming and opening up is in full swing. And the social market economic system is being gradually established and improved. Economic restructuring, distribution modes transition and interest entity diversification, all of this lead to moral decline. And economic transformation accompanys changes in cultural values. Monistic values systems collapse and plural values coexist. The paper analyzes in detail the causes of this phenomenon and its negative impacts on moral. In the second part, the thesis focuses on criticisms of the Fan' words and deeds mainly from two aspects. First, the thesis emphasizes that human nature is beyond animal instinct. Humanity is not equivalent to animality.People have the natural and social properties. If a person is paranoid in the corporal presence, it is just a recognition of animal instinct, self-reduced to animals, denial of human self. The second aspect is about the deviation of the view of freedom. It is mainly about revealing the view of freedom---Extreme Individualism, which supports the absurdity of Fan' words and actions. So, we should accept the Western freedom views selectively and conditionally. The third part focuses on the negative effects on morality under the market economy, so as to definite the necessity of defending the morality under the market economy condition. In fact, the market economy and the morality are mutually exculsive in character, but affective in practice. The fourth part is about some correlative suggestions for the moral dilemma. Integration of values is the current task.It should be based on native, assimilating and utilizing the Western values reasonably under the globalization vision. The construction of Moral Institutionalization is one of the solutions. Moral Institutionalization is effective and operable to regulate the human behaviors, which provides a unified code. And moral education,as one way of moral internalization, should adjust the original contents and combine with the social practice.Only through this way, it will be possible for us to get out of moral dilemma.
