Chinese Foreign Aid And Its Effects Towards Southeast Asia Development: A Case Of Sino-East Timor Relations

The main point of the thesis focuses on the reason and motivations to find out and analyze Chinese foreign policy tool through its foreign aid that has been become more attractive in the Southeast Asia region and brought a significant change in several key important development in Southeast Asia region generally as well as in East Timor development especially. China's foreign aid has had a growing, tangible impact in many countries in every region such as Southeast Asia region, especially in East Timor. One of the most important ways in which the People's Republic of China (PRC) has bolstered its economic presence and garnered international goodwill has been through its offers of financing or concessional loans for infrastructure projects, large economic investments and the signing of trade agreements.This paper aims at looking at the Chinese Foreign Aid as well as its effects toward Southeast Asia development placing particular emphasis on Sino-East Timor Relations.
