Jiangmen area, well-known as the First Hometown of emigrants, has had a tradition of immigrating. In recent ten years, there is a moderate amount of at least 10,000 emigrants into other countries annually. Due to the favorable policies, pursuit of better living conditions and the great cultural traditions, they immigrated overseas in great number. Through immigration, a network of family emigrants has been formed and maintained by Chinese traditional culture. The traditional Wuyi culture and western culture encounters and grants those new emigrants with open-mindedness and hard-working spirit. They adapt themselves to the local lives, and spread Chinese and western culture with efforts and help support the development of China and Jiangmen area.Wuyi new emigrants relate themselves to China through their network with Jiangmen area. Their immigration has had positive and negative influences on Jiangmen area and also impacted the relationship between China and other countries. In general, the new emigrants from Wuyi have played a positive role in fostering the exchange and cooperation between China and those immigration countries.
