An Ethical Research On The Post-80s Generation's Sense Of Civic Responsibility

The theme of this thesis is to discuss the post-80s generation's sense of responsibility. Post-80s generation seeks after freedom, independence, and advocate democracy, fearless to authority, dare to criticize and innovate. They are the main group of youth in the new century as well as the main force for the construction of modern civil society in China. Generally, the post 80s generation have already been equipped with the sense of responsibility as citizens, and have a comparatively right and overall cognition of responsibilities related to others, the society, the country and the nature, and they display strong sense of responsibility. Some of them have entered the mature period in terms of their sense of responsibility, thus they show strong self-discipline in practice of specific responsibility. However, there is still part of post-80s generation have insufficient reorganization. For them, the citizen's sense of responsibility is in an unstable, incomplete and unsteady state. This is closely related with their special social background, cultural environment and educations received in schools. Besides, the unique feature of post-80s generation is also one of the important influential factors. In order to further reinforce the post-80s generation's sense of responsibility and force them to develop toward a higher level, on one hand, we should deepen the social reform and make use of the internet to take positive influence on the post-80s generation's sense of responsibility, introduce the education for citizens to the school education and nurture the culture of citizen. On the other hand, the post-80s generation themselves should also make efforts to improve their ability in assuming responsibilities and promote their maturity in this perspective.
