Xinjiang, as a border security screen and the window for foreign exchange, plays a significant role of economic prosperity, social stability and national unity. The president Hu jintao emphasized: development and stability in Xinjiang is related to national unity, cohesion and security, to rejuvenation of China. Therefore, studying the ethnic relationship in Xinjiang, is not only the need for social stability , economic prosperity, well-to-do of the common people and frontier defense, but also indispensable for solidarity of Xinjiang.The Uygur and Hui, two larger population, have been living in Xinjiang for a long history. Studying the relation between Uygur and Hui to resolve problems in reality to consolidate and strengthen ethnic unity and stability, has the vital practical significance. Besides, it's one of the contents to construct harmonious society and maintain secure border.The essay aims to take Dapusangai, Grape village, Turpan for an example to study the relationship between Uygur and Hui, based on the ethnic theory of ethnosociology relation and predecessors'research. The literature reference, the questionnaire survey, the comparative analysis, and on-the-spot investigation methods are applied to the paper. Secondly, the comprehensive analysis of ethnic relation with below factors: the minority category, the population of Uygur and Hui, living pattern, culture diversity, social communication, intermarriage and market economy, which vividly reflects the ethnic harmonious relationship between Uygur an Hui in the investigated place. The two minors have been living together for a long time, moreover, they are able to love, expect and make progress each other. But by the field study, we can discover that the relation between Uygur and Hui because of something special displays diversity of communication type. Influenced by the marker economy, the factors of ethnic relation are increasing gradually. Therefore, we proposed that government must strengthen the construction of basic-level organization, pay attention to national unity education and devote resolving problems in the multi-ethnic community in order to adapt regional development.
