Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Women's Participation In Villagers' Autonomy

Since 1980s, the villagers'autonomy has been gradually rising and widely carrying out in the vast rural areas, while hundreds of millions of farmers participated in village elections with enthusiasm. However, due to the subjective and objective factors, there are some problems of women's participation in the villagers'autonomy-- the ratio is still not high, the depth and extent is not enough,etc.. Owing to the lack of participation in the villagers'autonomy, rural women have lost their important guarantee. Not only they haven't won their social status owed to them, but also it has prevented the improvement of social and political democratization and the pace of the coordinated development in rural areas. Now the government widely pays close attention to how to improve the socio-political economic position of this group, to stimulate their enthusiasm for political participation and to make them play the real role, "half of the sky", and it also has been hot issues of exploration and research in theoretical circles.In this thesis on the basis of sociology and women science, from a sociological perspective, it makes a research of women's participation in the villagers'autonomy with the theory of sociological feminism, and also analyzes women's participation status and existing problems in the villagers'autonomy in the study area of Qingxi Office, Huaxi District, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, with the case of Chenliang Village using questionnaire, interview, documents and field survey. Extending from the sense and acts of participation, it analyzes and investigates in depth from the basic conditions, family roles, political awareness, participate attitude, quality of participation, state of elections, participation in village affairs management, participation in decision-making, participation in supervision and other aspects of rural women. According to the survey, it gives further analysis of the factors which influenced women's participation in the villagers'autonomy from the subjective and objective reasons. Finally it puts forward some rationalization proposals from strengthening women's self-awareness and capacity of participation in the villagers'autonomy, improving the role transformation and the subjectivity of women, establishing perfect system and mechanism, and reforming the objective environment to enhance the women's participation in the villagers'autonomy.
