The Regional Comparative Analysis Of Labor Force Participation Of Persons With Disabilities Of China

People with disabilities have always been subject to a special group of widespread concern. Problem of labor force participation of persons with disabilities has several decades of research history, but it is relatively short in our country, and is lack of a more comprehensive and systematic information surveys and data analysis. But as a people-centered socialist country, we pursue the common development of human race, China is increasingly concerned about the employment of people with disabilities. In this paper, with the goal to improve the labor force participation rate of persons with disabilities, to promote employment of disabled people, to improve the economic situation of persons with disabilities and enhance the level of benefits of people with disabilities, we use knowledge of economics, sociology and statistics, based on the research results at home and abroad, combined with the second national survey data of persons with disabilities of Shanxi Province, to analysis the labor force participation status, characteristics and affecting factors for persons with disabilities between Shanxi Province and the nation, and then attempt to make relevant recommendations.Firstly, with the use of the second national survey data of persons with disabilities, we analysis the status of labor force participation, employment and unemployment status of persons with disabilities from those angle:gender, urban-rural, age, educational level, disability groups, industries, find that there are multiple barriers in the labor force participation and employment of persons with disabilities, such as:low levels of labor force participation rate, educational level is generally lower than society, employment is mainly in the primary industry and farming, mostly manual, more unemployment in rural than urban areas, serious imbalance in the employment rate between men and women of people with disabilities and so on.Secondly, we analysis the influencing factors which affect the labor force participation and employment of persons with disabilities using the statistical models, and find that the legal protection, educational attainment, income and job security, rehabilitation and supported employment for persons with disabilities also affect it to some extentThirdly, based on the analysis we put forward policy recommendations to prevent disability and promote rehabilitation, thereby to facilitate the employment of disabled people. Through the improvement of the educational system to enhance the choice of industry of persons with disabilities, to coordinate the regional employment imbalance of persons with disabilities, and to balance the serious imbalances in the employment between men and women of persons with disabilities through the unemployment protect, supported employment.
