Studies On Relationship Among Personality Characteristics,coping Styles And Mental Health Status About Air Force Frontier Radar Soldiers From Southwest Of China

AIM To explore Mental Health Status of Air force frontier radar soldiers from southwest of China ,and to filter the interpersonal sensitivity influence factors, and to study on relationship among personality characteristics ,coping styles and mental health status in order to provide the empirical evidence for the filter of the Frontier Soldiers from southwest of subtropical region who work at radar station ,and to better carry out mental health programs, and enhance the mental health of the soldiers and promote the battle effectivenessMETHORDS1. Sampling 270 Air force frontier radar soldiers from southwest of China, and investigated by SCL-90, EPQ and WCQ questionnaires.2. Comparing the result of SCL-90 to the national norm of the nation and the inland of the soldiers,and analysis the demographic characteristics of SCL-90, EPQ and WCQ.3. Analysis of correlation of SCL-90, EPQ and WCQ. 4. Regression the EPQ and WCQ to SCL-90 in order to explore the mediated variable and the mechanism of the relationship of the three variables.RESULT1. Mental Health Status of Frontier Soldiers from southwest of China1.1 Comparing with the national norm of china, the factor scores of somatization,psychoticism were significantly higher. The factors of interpersonal sensitivity and depression were significantly lower. And comparing with the national norm of inland, somatization,hostile,psychosis were significantly higher ,but interpersonal sensitivity, depress , anxiety and photic anxiety were significantly lower.1.2 demographic characteristics: there were no significant differences among different educational level, family, and weather only child soldiers. Comparing to the soldiers who lived in the west regions before they joined the army, the soldier who did not somzatization , interpersonal sensitivity , anxiety ,hostility , paranoid ideation and psychoticism and the general average scores were higher. Sergeancy had higher scores in somzatization and psychoticism than conscription. The ones who were aged aged seventeen and twenty got higher photic anxiety than who were aged between twenty-six and twenty-nine.1.3 There were no significant age and family difference on the WCQ, However, there were significant post at the army level and educational and weather was only child difference. Comparing to the conscription and the officer, sergeancy acted much more reasonable coping styles. Vocational college students took more immature coping styles, and only child took more immature and reasonable coping styles, and the soldiers who did not lie in the west region took more immature and reasonable coping styles,. 1.4 The extrovert-instability and introvert-instability ones got higher scores in SCL-90 than the extrovert-stability and introvert-stability ones. The introvert-instability ones took less question solving coping style, extrovert-stability ones took more question solving coping style than introvert-stability ones. extrovert-stability and extrovert-instability ones took more helping coping style than introvert-instability ones. introvert-instability ones took less immature and reasonable coping styles than others. The extrovert-instability and introvert-instability ones took more negative coping styles .2. The relationship among personality characteristics,coping styles and mental health status of Frontier Soldiers from southwest of China2.1There were significant relationship among personality characteristics and coping styles of Frontier Soldiers from southwest of China, nervous disposition and lie can predicted mixed coping, but nervous disposition and extraversion-introversion and psychoticism can predict mature coping style, nervous disposition and lie can predict immature coping style,2.2 There were significant relationship among personality characteristics , coping styles and mental health. Personality characteristics and coping styles can predict mental health status of Frontier Soldiers from southwest of China, and coping styles mediated the relationship between personality characteristics and mental health status.CONCLUSION1. Comparing with the national norm of nation and inland soldiers, there were some problem with the coping styles and mental health status of Frontier Soldiers from southwest of China, it suggested that some departments concern should take some actions.2. There were significant relationship among personality characteristics,coping styles and mental health status of Frontier Soldiers from southwest of China, personality characteristics and coping styles can predict mental health status, and coping styles mediated the relationship between personality characteristics and mental health status. It suggested that under the stress context, the mood stable and health personality soldiers can positive cope and promote the soldiers mental health.
