By reading experiment and questionnaire survey on contemporary primary 4-6 grade students' reading comprehension monitoring, the research results show that:(1) Overall, the primary 4-6 grade students only qualify for reading comprehension monitoring, their comprehension monitoring needs to improve. Understanding the necessary background knowledge, definiting purpose in reading, grasping necessary reading skills are important means to improve the pupils of reading comprehension monitoring.(2) The error detection ability, measure of Felt Understanding ability and Reading comprehension scores of primary 4-6 grade students improve with increasing age.(3) From results of the experiment, primary school students in grade 4-6, the girls'error detection scores and reading comprehension scores are significantly higher than the boy's.(4) Primary 4-6 grade students'error detection in words is obviously superior to error detection in Sentence; Students'scores in lower difficulty of error types are higher than the scores in more difficult error types.(5) According to the primary 4-6 grade students'cognitive developments and characteristics, the teacher may use a variety of effective ways to help students to improve their reading comprehension monitoring level.
