Implementing The Project Of Expanding University Students' Capabilities, Strengthening The Educational Function Of University Committee Of The Communist Young League

The project of expanding university students'capabilities is a huge and systematic programme launched by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, Ministry of Education and the united students, aiming at enhancing the education for all-around development in universities. According to the modern concept on human resources development, it scientifically plans the cultivation of university students'general competence, of individuation and of all-around development, with the core of fostering university students'mental political quality, the emphasis fostering university students'innovative and practical capability, and the purpose of comprehensively enhancing university students'scientific and humane quality.The educational function of University Committee of the Communist Young League is becoming more obvious and it's influence exerted on the university students'mental political education and education for students'all-around development is also more and more heavier with the deepening of systematic reform on higher education and changing of University Committee of the Communist Young League's function, basing on which, the project of expanding university students' capabilities is generated. As a brand programme for University Committee of the Communist Young League educating students in the new period, carry-out of the project of expanding university students'capabilities is of great importance on creating a harmonious, sound, civilized environment for education, promoting the humane spirit of university students, strengthening university students'ability on aesthetic judgment, and building a correct concept facing the competition employment after graduation.This paper summarizes the relation between the significance of launching the project of expanding university students'capabilities and the educational function of University Committee of the Communist Young League through elaborating the connotations and features of the project. Via investigation, the paper also analyses some problems in the course of carry-out of the project, and further bring forward relevant strategies concerning these problems. This paper consists of five parts totally:Part 1 mainly narrates the contents of the project of expanding university students'capabilities and it's connotation of'three unifications', and briefs the features of the project.Part 2 mainly elaborates the significance of launching the project of expanding university students'capabilities which consists of 3 points:enriching the contents of mental political education, enhancing the students'ideological and moral awareness, cultivating students'innovative spirit, ability and awareness of starting businesses, and strengthening self-management awareness and promoting comprehensive capability.Part 3 mainly demonstrates the relation between the significance of launching the project of expanding university students'capabilities and the educational function of University Committee of the Communist Young League. The project is the effective carrier for the University Committee of the Communist Young League to educate students. It also enhances the enforcement, expands the coverage, and strengthens practicality of the educational function of University Committee of the Communist Young League,After stating the current situation of the carry-out of the project, Part 4 mainly analyses the problems confronted. The students should be got to know more about the project, and are lack of initiative on participating in the relevant activities. Some students are lack of honesty and integrity when applying academic credit for capabilities expansion. The project itself is lack of self-identity in society.Part 5 brings forward the strategies for the existing problems when carrying out the project.
