A Study On The Present Operating State Of Popular Taekwondo Clubs In Changsha Hunan And Its Development Strategies

Taekwondo is a kind of folk wushu skill originated from ancient Korean Peninsula. It is a kind of sport which mainly relies on legs with the assistance of hands. Integrating constant strikes and rapid kicking, it is a very practical and idea skill both in terms of athletic competition and self-protecting. Along with Chinese athletes'excellent representation in the international kick-boxing field, social Taekwondo sports has become a hot item. As a new form of sports organization with high quality and unique fitness service, Taekwondo club has been fully recognized by the society. Statistics has shown that there are over five million Taekwondo participants, and over five thousand Taekwondo clubs in China. It has great significance to study the operating status of Taekwondo clubs in Changsha, which will help to improve sports industry in Hunan Province, to develop scientific fitness and healthy living, to perfect the management system of fitness market.The author inspected and consulted the operating status of 26 Taekwondo clubs in Changsha. By using questionnaire survey procedure, the author had a on-the-sport investigation and consultation towards 26 operators,50 coaches and 500 exercises. After literature retrieval of sports documents and consulting hundreds of academic journals, this paper aims to discover the factors restricting the club operating development and propose strategies on the basis of analysis.Investigation results demonstrate:Taekwondo clubs in Changsha are mostly chain stores; the coaches'academic level are lower; the teaching philosophy is out of time; fields and equipment cannot reach the standard; Taekwondo practices are mostly teenagers with aims of entertaining and promoting physical quality. On the basis of general analysis existed operating problems in Taekwondo clubs in Changsha, this paper puts a lot of development strategies:to have necessary measures to promote the management level, the coaches'professional quality and academic level; to increase supervising and managing dynamics; to set perfect rules and regulations; to collect capital multi-channel to improve the hardware facilities; to improve the humanistic environment; to set strict charging standards; to strengthen the study of Taekwondo culture etc. All of these strategies aim to develop clubs orderly and healthily.
