| In the compulsary education stage, the subject of art is one of the national required core courses, which is significant for the sound growth and all-around development of children. However, owing to the constraints of the examination-oriented trend in China, the subject of art is paid less attention to. For example, there are less art lessons than normal in the compulsary education stage. Schools are badly in need of art teachers. At the same time the art teachers need to improve their teaching skills.The level of the teaching faculty is the key element in improving the quality of art education. But nowadays, especially rural schools in our province are short of art teachers. There are even no professional art teachers in many rural primary schools, where the unprofessional staff are still an important part. Though the situation is better in the junior high schools, the problem is still serious, which limits the students'progress in all fields, hinders the balanced development of education and goes against the basic idea of fair education. It also indirectly influences the economic construction and improvement of productivity.Due to these problems, the paper focuses on the analysis of their causes, possible solutions and approaches to the problems, experiences and practicability of the other provinces as well as the available ways to solve the problems in Hebei Province. This research includes three parts, which are the current situation and problems in art teaching in Hebei Province, exploration of solutions and approaches to the problems, ways to improving the level of the rural art teaching faculty, and in the end the conclusion—the effects of this proposal. From these four aspects, this research puts forward the individual opinions on the situation and problems in art teaching and solutions and measures to take in Hebei Province. |
