New teaching materials have been introduced to all subjects since the carrying out of the new curriculum reform in Zhejiang Province in September 2006.For Senior Chemistry, the curriculum materials for teaching are the editions from Jiangsu Education Publishing House. The curriculum materials features that it recombines all the knowledge in Senior Chemistry into Units. A new elective module called experimental chemistry was added. The added module subverts traditional teaching methods of earlier ones in chemical experiments, including seven special topics, sixteen research projects and twenty expanding experiments.In this research, it is hoped that the teachers will not use the book experimental chemistry only as a handbook. Instead, more types of instructions are expected. Therefore, the study is based on the teaching methods in experiments in experimental chemistry.This study has been based on the current theory in an attempt to find out the best teaching method for each experiment in the textbook to enrich students'knowledge of Chemistry and better their accomplishments in Chemistry experiments as well as improving the teaching efficiency in class. At the same time, it will also benefit both their professional researchers and later executors.This study mainly adopts experiments, questionnaire survey and interviews to explore some typical research projects in the experiments in Chemistry, including the separation and test of Iodine from Kelp, the nature of Aluminum and its compound, the test of some compositions in toothpaste and matches, the identification of Sodium Nitrite and common salt.Different teaching methods were adopted in our research in two classes (Experiments and Contrast classes) and they are evaluated and preferred based on the investigations about the reaction and improvements of the students.Through teaching practice and research, we found that we can maximally stimulate students'learning motivation, change the internal learning methods and learning environment, arouse students'learning initiative, improve the students'knowledge and accomplishment in the experiment teaching in chemistry with the help of reasonable teaching method, especially the inquisitive teaching method. The teaching examples have the value of the practical application.
