Analysis On Urban Poverty Space In The Perspective Of Social Exclusion

The reform and opening of China made great changes in its political, economic, cultural and other fields.However, when the material wealth of the society growed, not everyone is equally able to enjoy the fruits of reform and development, unfair resources distribution and social gap between rich and the poor had enlarged. Therefor, urban poverty appeared in society which including the laid-off workers, the unemployed and poor flow population.The differentiation of social and economic status reflected in the spatial differentiation and seperation of the low-income and high-income groups.This poor hierarchy stems in a special period when the economic and political system and social structure of China transformated. This resulted in an inevitable series of social problems which would have a huge impact on urban construction and development, as well as the stability of the country's continued social and economic development.Currently, poverty problem only be concerned by sociology and demographic, less scholars combinated poverty with social space. At the same time, many scholars focused on poverty by its "relative poverty", their analysis on poverty is lack of the perspective of social exclusion.Therefore, based on social exclusion theory, this paper take Dalian for example, starting from urban poverty space to analyse the spatial characteristics of poverty in Dalian, as well as its structural characteristics and the mechanism of its apperence. Based on this, the paper make an anti-poverty strategy. The details are as follows:First of all, the paper analyied and summaried research progress on poverty on the basis of domestic and foreign scholars, including its spatial characteristics and the causes of poverty.Meanwhile, the paper analysed the progress and lacking of poverty research, and then set out the theoretical basis of this article, including social stratification mechanism, spatial differentiation mechanisms, as well as poverty spatial differentiation mechanism. Secondly, the author taked Dalian as an example and introduced the main components and the range of the poverty groups.Thirdly, the paper selected people who enjoy minimum living protection and the migrant farmers in Dalian Region as a specific research subjects for the questionnaire. Finally, the author analysed the cause of poverty space in Dalian from macro and micro-mechanism and proposed solutions to urban poverty countermeasures.
