The Chinese Communist Party and the Ministry of Education have always attached great importance to higher school on education of Chinese national conditions. In 2004, the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council issued the opinion on further strengthening and improving college students'ideological and political education, which states we should carry on the history education of Chinese revolution, construction, reform and opening up, and the education of basic national conditions, the situation and policy. Facing our rapid development of economy, and influx of foreign cultures, students'political awareness and values are easy to be influenced. At the new moment when Chinese rapid economic and social transition and full construction of the well-off society, to enhance education of Chinese national conditions is good for mastery of basic national conditions, the Party's line, principles and policies, the questions of social development process and setting up correct outlook on life and values.Since the founding of new China, in different stages of economic and social development, education of national conditions has many striking features. In the research period before Reform and Opening up, including the "motion" stage in socialist transformation,"radical"education in socialist construction and the"slogan"stage in Cultural Revolution period. In the gradually matured period after the Reform and Opening up, there are three periods of recognition, innovation and perfection. From the stages of education in the course of history, success of national conditions education needs master the basic national conditions and its content should keep pace with the times, and its forms should be colorful. At present, institutions of higher education pay more attention to it, but it's ineffective enough; part of the diverse forms is formalized; the content is much but lacks systematic; educational goals are sure, but it's not realistic enough. The reasons are as follows: it lacks the overall security mechanism; the contents of Chinese conditions change fast, and the education's contents update slowly; the changes of social environment influence on the reality of its objectives. In the future, higher school will continue to strengthen and improve education of Chinese national conditions. Firstly, we should strengthen the overall design of its system, including focusing on improving the organized management, strengthening the development of the teachers, and perfecting the evaluation system. Secondly, we should perfect its contents system, including the historical and realistic education, etc. Thirdly, we should create the means and methods, focusing on the carrier construction, strengthening social practice and usage of network, etc.
