ABSTRACT:With the overall goal of implementing the strategy of invigorating country through science and education and establishing the innovative country, training the high-level talents with innovation spirit and ability has become the mission of colleges and universities in China. The implementation of the inquiry-based teaching in colleges and universities which aims to cultivate students the ability of exploration and innovation, meets the requirement of country and society towards to people. With the continuous deepening of campus informatization construction and networking teaching, the research about implementing inquiry-based teaching in the network environment began to get the attention of education workers and technology development personnel。Wiki is a new technology and ideas of Web2.0 era. With the characteristic of opening, cooperation, sharing, and creating together, Wiki has provided the favorable platform support for the development of inquiry-based teaching.This thesis aims to explore the feasibility of Wiki's application in the inquiry-based teaching of colleges and universities. It researches how to implement inquiry-based teaching by Wiki from two aspects of theory and practice. under the guidance of modern education thoughts and theory, This thesis analysis the concept and characteristics of inquiry-based teaching and summarize the advantages of using Wiki to implementing inquiry-based teaching. It discusses the necessity and feasibility of implementing inquiry-based teaching under the Wiki environment and constructs the inquiry-based teaching model based on Wiki. It also expounds the characteristics of the model, the elements, organization form and three learning activities of the model application: the construction activity based on the theme, the exploring activities based on problems and cooperation study based on project. On the basis of research-based teaching system based on Wiki, including function modules of platform, the construction and administration of teaching resources and teaching management, etc. In the practice, this study uses MediaWiki as a Wiki engine and the curriculum ofas a case. It constructs inquiry-based teaching platform and realized the basic function module. It also designed specific learning activities and has the platform carried on the preliminary application. this paper discusses the effect of the application and summarizes the problems existing in the application process.
