Writing material in textbooks offers teachers the foundation of how to improve students'writing ability and their Chinese attainments. Based on different principles, the writing material of the first phrase of Curriculum Reform is different form that of the second phrase in several aspects, such as writing style and content. While being put into practice, the writing material of the second phrase has some disadvantages.This paper will compare the two different kinds of writing material in order to research their advantages and disadvantages in four aspects. The first part is to analyze background information, of these two phrases in order to understand their points in several aspects, such as writing aims, teaching content, teaching requirements and teaching advice by comparing curriculum standard of two phrases. The second part aims to compare writing styles in order to research two different basic stylistic rules and layouts and different requirements. The third part is to compare writing content. First, it is to understand them as a whole and then to discuss about two different systems in a scientific way, and teaching content in a sequential and practical way. By analyzing all these, it is going to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the two kinds of writing content. The last part is to give a summary and some advice for teachers to deal with several problems in teaching procedures during the second phrase of Curriculum Reform.
