This paper focuses on how to organize, guide and monitor students'reading based on students'different levels. Although classroom teaching has been carried on for a long time, the gap between the students is always a big problem. Even worse, the discrepancy of the English level for each student is becoming bigger and bigger, especially in English reading ability. So in English classroom, English writing is always a weak point. How to conduct a Multi-level English teaching activity in reading based on students'different levels has been the problem that most teachers worry about and it has become the difficult point of teaching. In addition, the new requirement of English reading amount has been put forward by the New Curriculum Standards for Middle School English (NCS). Based on the Chinese traditional belief in the principle that "Best teaching caters to students'individual needs", this paper explores a set of effective methods to fit students of different levels. This research tries to divide the students into three groups. The students of different levels are not announced in public and the groups are adjusted with the students'changing levels of their English proficiency. Both in and after class, the researcher tries to design different tasks to fit the three level groups respectively, to promote each student to make a rapid progress. Through the data analysis of tests, the result shows:1) The experiment can help the teacher track down on students'reading performance and enable them to adjust guidance to suit students'needs; 2) The experiment can improve students'reading ability; 3) Most students take delight in participating in the experiment, showing positive attitude to this approach to reading. With the positive results achieved from the experiment, the author concludes that Multi-level English reading teaching can be effectively and favorably applied to junior middle schools.
