After reform and development, China solves its own delegacy of sports in terms of mode of Olympic Games and China comes on the sports ground of the world. With the request of the dometic economy, China carries out the development strategy on competitive sports that advances with the times, improving the degree of sport skill and enhancing our country's influence in the world. Especially entering into the 21st century, China obtains the gigantic achievements in Olympic Games to achieve the wish of being a strong country in competitive sports. This paper aims to analyse the social backgrounds in different historical periods that putting the sports development strategy into effect and the interaction analysis with state's overall development plan. The research of this paper blazes new trails and is still the blank space in academic circles.With the research approach of documents and materials, factor analysis method and expert interviewing method, this paper proposes that the development strategy of competitive sports is the powerful guarantee to sports, and at last gives some pieces of advise on the sports sustainable development in order to fit with state's overall development plan.This is the conclusion: The development strategy of competitive sports must correspond with the ear development, and it cannot develop alone. The development strategy is drawn up by State Physical Culture Administration in order to the demand of the different periods.The development strategy of competitive sports plays a prominent role in one country.
