Rationale And Practice Of The Green University Foundation

Environment and development problems have aroused great concern all over the world, while sciences and technology have progressed greatly since the industrial revolution. Moreover, the sustainable development theory has been put forward, and then it becomes a program of action for the 21st century to build up the whole people's environmental protection consciousness and promote them to take actions.Founding the green university is an important way moving sustainable development from theory to practice. It also plays an important role in supporting the theory, spreading the green culture and bringing up talents who can carry the theory out.In this paper, I took unsustainable development threatening the nature and economic society as background, took founding the "green normal university" in Zhejiang Normal University as main content, basing on the existing correlation theories on the green university foundation, explored the theory and practice methods on the green university foundation and promoting the sustainable development. The results are as following:(1) The green university foundation is supposed to include green campus, green education, green science and technology, green culture and so on. These are organical inalienable constituents of the green university foundation. Green campus is basis and representation of the foundation, green education is key link, green science and technology are technical support,green culture is goal.Only basing on green campus, green education, green science and technology, and promoting green culture, can we make "the green idea" to pass through to university's every aspect and link.Furthermore, with exerting university's functions in bringing up talent, social service, cultural influence, we can promote people have sustainable development idea and environmental protection consciousness(2) Green campus:Base on campus overall layout, I proposed structures simulate to natural community. It has patterns of health care, popular science, psychological culture and so on. I also provided methods in constructing diversified contact spaces where was suitable activity place for plants, animals and human beings, which included outdoors public open space, outdoors half open space, outdoors private space and so on.(3) Green education:On the base of a green campus, natural laboratory and base construction, we proposed a green curriculum education system, green practice education system, green campus environment education system. Those integrated green campus education and classroom curriculum, class education and the extracurricular education. It is an omnidirectional education in wide way at multi-level, a sustainable development idea.(4) Green science and technology:I proposed to set up science and technology items, extend technology, contact with teachers and students engage in ecology, environment sciences, engineering management and sociology. We should make full use of existing science and technology achievements in building green university, enhance its technology content and level, and make university embody its "green" nature.(5) Green Culture:I proposed to form performance system by edit, exert green culture's function in edifying, through varied practice of extra-curricular activities, create green culture, promote the formation of sustainable development concept and environmental consciousness with propagandization.In brief, this study summarized theories and practice of domestic and foreign green university. I expect to take the opportunity that campus expansion and campus environment renovation in Zhejiang Normal University, and carry out the "green normal university foundation" at every aspect and level of green education, green technology, green culture and so on. This study will greatly promote health sustainable development of Zhejiang Normal University.First, "introduction", it shows primarily the background, subject, content, methods, aim and significance of this study, whatmore, the analysis and appraisal of existing study situation and questions need further study.Second, "rationale of the green university foundation" and "the concept, characteristics and functions of green university", the primary work is to introduce basic theories and concepts related to founding green university as well as its characteristics and functions, preparing for the subject study.Last, "practice in the green university foundation", the primary work is to practice theories of the green normal university foundation with exploration, summarize and enrich theory achievements and experience in the "green university foundation".
