Childishness has an significant value in children's art composition. Children's art shows the purest innocence of kids, containing the truest emotions of children, and reflecting the artistic creation of the most authentic soul. Children's art education should be the best way to nourish their hearts and achieve their self-developments. However, in some today's practices of children's art education, people tend to ignore the value of childishness, and many disturbing phenomena are coming into being, Such as the small " Adult Painting " in children exhibition, numerous"copy pictures"in Art Teaching. Thus Children's art education is mixed with a large number of utilitarian purposes. Concerning these phenomena, this paper includes " childishness" concept in children's art education and at the same time, the paper puts forward the notion: return to children's childishness in Children's Art education. This paper employs psychology, education, art and other theories, as well as children's art teaching practices, and aims to implement the return to childishness of the children's art education by a series of analyses and arguments. Furthermore, it is divided into four parts:In the first part, the author tries to make these concepts clear: the meaning of Childishness and the importance of childishness in the formation of children's art composition with concrete analyses and discussions. Thus this paper provides basic theoretical supports for the necessarities of return to childishness. In the second part, from the perspective of the value of education, the author discusses the merits of return to children's childishness in their art education separately from children, teachers, and education itself. In the third part, the author reveals and analyses the utility, mechanics, and infunences of the adults, which departed from the innocence of adult education exiting in the current practices of children's art education by means of observations, document retrievals and other methods. The last part discourses the basic ideas and the practical implementations of return to childishness in Art education through case studies regarding the psychological development and the growth law of children. This paper holds the opinion that childishness is not a sign of retrogression, yet it is the inborn nature and gift of human and the source or evidence of the children's artistic creative potentiality and children's art vatality. Return to childishness in the children's art education is to create an art education context that is full of freedom and harmony, filled with love and children's enjoyment, which follows the sequence of development of lives. To see the Art Education behaviors from the perspective of children, to respect the children's unique aesthetic experience and the pursuit of artistic freedom and creativity, to guide and inspire them in the process of art teaching and to protect the children's original art, ultimately can we achieve the purpose of cultivalting their aesthetic personalities. In the past, researchers mainly probed into the return to childishness in children's art education from the overall view of education, while a separate exploration of return to childishness in art education was merely touched upon. Moreover, the former explorations were mostly presented in form of essays which lack systematic studies, especially the unique theoretical basis, value and strategy of practice on children's return to childishness in art education. This article attempts to integrate the contents of these sections and to form a systematic and theoretical framework, using literature data and case study to make the research more persuasive. I hope to do my humble bit for the present reform of children's art education.
