A Study On Misconduct Problem Among PE Teachers In Elementary And Secondary Schools In Urban Areas Of Zhengzhou City

The misconduct problem among PE teachers not only affects healthy growth of the future generations but also restricts the construction and development of the entire physical education undertaking. The present misconduct situation of PE teachers in elementary and secondary schools in urban areas of Zhengzhou City is taken as the research subject which the literature, investigation, observation, mathematical statistics and logics are applied to explore and analyze. The results show that:Firstly, the misconduct of PE teachers from elementary and secondary schools of urban areas in Zhengzhou City takes the form of honest teaching, unbalanced relations, unwise management, disrespect, illegal education, misbehaviors, incontrollable emotions and less rigorous teaching which belong to four dimensions—misconduct of goal-rationality, misconduct of value-rationality, misconduct of emotion-orientation and tradition-orientation.Secondly, it is less serious for PE teachers from urban areas of Zhengzhou City in respects of dishonest teaching, illegal education, misbehaviors and not rigorous teaching than unbalanced relations, unwise management, disrespect and uncontrollable emotions;as the grade increases from elementary schools to high schools, the misconduct of PE teachers is increasingly common;the general difference between PE teachers of different types in primary schools is not obvious;the general difference between PE teachers of different types in secondary schools is obvious;male PE teachers have more common misconduct than female PE teachers do;the misconduct difference of PE teachers at different ages is not obvious on the whole.Through investigation and analysis, reasons that are considered to contribute to misconduct of PE teachers from elementary and secondary schools in urban areas of Zhengzhou City are as follows:PE teachers have poor comprehensive quality;the philosophical deviation of physical education is the ideological reason for misconduct of PE teachers;the deficiency of relevant legal awareness is the accelerant of misconduct of PE teachers;the utilitarian environment of school physical education is the greenhouse of misconduct of PE teachers;lack of reasonable regulatory criteria for PE teachers is the "management black hole"of their misconduct;limitation of pre-service education and lack of post-service education is the source of misconduct of PE teachers;negative impact of market economy during the period of social transition is the social condition of PE teachers'misconduct;lack of relevant laws and regulations is the institutional origin of PE teachers'misconduct.This research proposes the following strategies against misconduct of PE teachers according to the reasons:strengthen the ethical education on PE teachers and improve their comprehensive qualities;take the opportunity of the new curriculum reform and change timely the physical education philosophy;strengthen the propaganda and education of the legal system and enhance the legal knowledge of PE teachers and students;accelerate the institutional construction of management of PE teachers in schools and guarantee healthy activities of physical education;improve the living condition of PE teachers, relieve their professional pressure and enhance their psychological situations.
