The advancement of the society, the development of the country and the enhancement of China's overall national strength, in the final analysis, is all depending on the all-round improvement of citizens'quality. As a very important constituent of national education, the development of vocational education has greatly raised Chinese peoples'quality. But, in recent years, China's vocational educationists attach much more importance to technical skill training, so as to ignore students'personality education, together with the special character of the students themselves; many personality-problems come to show up. All of these issues must cause our attentions to strengthen the post secondary students'personal education. Referring to fully carry out the party's education policy, President Hu Jintao says, the cardinal problem that must be solved well in the educational business is to think about what kind of people to cultivate and how to do it. In nowadays, social competition becomes increasingly fierce, thus the competitive society has a higher and higher demand to those professional and technical personnel.It is stressed in the report of the16th National People's Congress (NPC) that we should "strengthen the vocational education and training, develop continued education and construct lifelong education system", which would be "create one hundreds millions of high-quality workers, ten thousands of specialized personnel and a large number of top creative talents."The spirits embodied in the report of the16th NPC are the guidance and leading thought for secondary vocational education reform and development in the new era, in which the striding direction for the secondary vocational education has been clearly pointed out, and higher requirements for professional education has also been made out. Students being educated should not merely be equipped with superb technology and excellent professional , meanwhile a healthy personality should also be countered. Only in this way they can adapt to social development. At present, in the full implementation of quality education, re-examining the character education and identifying character education in the process of vocational secondary education as a science, in order to develop a healthy personality as the educational values and ultimate goals, is a requirement for the development of modern society, is also an objective requirement for students'physical and mental development, and is also a guarantee for their growth.In the thesis, at first, the research analysis of current level of the personality characteristics of students and existing problems, from which draw the conclusions as follows: the importance of personality education of vocational students and strengthening process from the view of social development and self-development of students; at last draws on traditional ethical culture to enhance it. The thesis aims to explore some helpful methods to the healthy personality growth of vocational students, to change traditional way of moralizing and improve the timeliness of moral education to make the vocational students go to society successfully and realize their own value.
