Personality is an important and concern topic to many ancient and modern scholars. Especially in Chinese traditional culture, the theoretical perspective of personality and character education is contending and flourishing, which has profound theoretical value and practical significance, and is wisdom of the ancient sages to the laws of Nature understanding repeatedly including "Heaven". At present, our country is in economic and social period of profound change, there is an urgent need to this special group of college students giving support, meeting the challenges of the times and carrying out the entrusted task by history. However, in the turn of the old and new cultures and East and West culture flooded, some students feel lost, confused and even indulgent, decadent, which is the main problem reflected in the personality structure of the imbalance and disorder. Therefore, based on the great cause of modernization and the great task of national rejuvenation and the college students need of comprehensive and free development, personality and character education theorv in traditional culture should be arranged systematically, removed the tumor and poor cultural ideas, so that the glorious of traditional civilization will continue to shine students in new way forward.Thesis analyzed and investigated the developed condition of current students' personality and the status of character education in university, made full use of theoretical analysis, historical analysis, empirical research method, etc., and summed up the problem that the development of students'personality and character education, and proposed an ideal model of personality. First, this thesis described the background, status, significance of personality; followed qualitatively analyzed the concept related personality, and described the importance of students'personality molding and requirements of modern society; and analyzed systematically the ideal personality theory of Chinese traditional culture (including the I Ching, Confucianism, Buddhism. Taoism), and described in detail the positive value of classical literature and art to the personality molding. On this base, the developed condition of students'personality and the status of character education have been interviewed and questionnaire surveyed, according to these data statistics and analysis, we obtained the problems of the development of students personality and character education. Then, proposed the ideal model personality of Diamond pattern.Finally, it discussed how to use the traditional culture for contemporary college students personality molding from a realistic possibility. the leading force. principle contents, basic methods and approaches, and other aspects.The main innovation of this paper is:First, starting from the structure (subject, object, intermediary) of practice, innovatively and roundly analyzed a series of problems demanding prompt solution of character education in Chinese higher institutes.Second, according to the three-dimensional structure of diamond octahedron, designed the ideal model personality of Diamond pattern including 12 types of personality trait.Third, by the systemic thinking of traditional culture, from the environment, resources, culture, art four aspects, discussed the basic method and approaches, of personality molding to students. And put forward four sides countermeasure of optimized environment for personality molding, activating resources of personality molding, innovating culture of personality molding, and advancing skills of personality molding.
