China is a multiracial nation with divers culture. Every minority owns its unique culture, customs and religious belief. Some even have created their own languages and words. Due to the influence of their cultural tradition and religious belief, they formed all kinds of value systems, of which one is life value. Life value consciously or unconsciously works on people's behaviors, the manners of doing things and orients the character of life and its developments. Anyone that wants to realize his or her self-value must have right life value, which will offer positive guidance to life and promote its development; while unhealthy and misleading life value will have a negative influence on the development of life. Therefore, whether a person holds complete, optimistic and positive attitude towards life will have a determination on the discovery, cherishment and creation of meaningful and valuable life. So life value of the minorities reflects their understanding of life and perspective on the world.In this research, the researcher thinks it's because the minorities are influenced by their culture, especially by their religious believes that different ethnic group has different opinion on life and life value, so differences exists between different minorities. This research and the questionnaire aim to predict discover the ethnic college students' life and life value and find the differences between them. In this research, the researcher definites life values like this:life values are the general system of existence, aims, development, belief and dynamic state in life and life process. Based on the open-ended questionnaires carried among the 200 ethnic group preparatory students in Southwest University, the five dimensions are created as follows:(1):value of life environment (2): value of life existence (3):value of life aim (4):value of life development (5):value of belief. Preliminary surveys were carried out in Southwest University and Luzhou Medical College.300 questionnaires were issued,268 of which were got back. It takes up 89.3% of the total. After eliminating the 55 invalid ones,213 valid ones were refined. The formal questionnaire surveys were carried out in Southwest University, Southwest University of Nationalities, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Sichuan College of Science and Technologies, Liangshan Medical School( college students), Luzhou Medical College, Neijiang Teachers College.1,000 questionnaires were issued,611 of which are valid and got back. Of the valid ones,509 are from the minority students and 102 are from Han ethnic group.αcoefficient is 0.824, which shows that this questionnaire is stable and reliable. The analysis of the related coefficients and verifiable factors indicates that the questionnaire can meet the demands of rating scale. After the test of general well- being schedule(GWB) and Self—Rating Depression Scale (SDS), the results indicates that the questionnaires have good validation.Based on the research carried in the above process, the following conclusion can be drowned:1. Southwest minority's college students'life value is a system with many dimensions and layers. Value of life environment, value of life existence, value of life aim, value of life development and value of belief are included.2. The questionnaires made by the researcher herself have very good validation and reliabilities. It is a reliable tool in this research.3. Southwest minority ethnic college students'life value shows positive tendency in five dimensions. The Minority ethnic students not only hold positive attitude towards their own life, and its development and aim, but also respect others'life. Meanwhile, life value of minority's students is related and influenced by their religious believes. These students'life value diverses because of different nationality, sex, grade, major and whether one child it the family and so on. But family economics has no effects on their life value.
