Women's ice hockey develops rapidly since 90'in the 20th century. The quantity of the countries and regions that carry out Women's ice hockey were increased rapidly, the competition is becoming more intense and required higher strength and conditioning to the players. Overall, there is a big gap between Chinese women's ice hockey and other world-class women's ice hockey teams, one of the big gaps is the strength and conditioning. In order to prepare for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, a strength and conditioning named Wade was invited to Chinese women's ice hockey team for strength and conditioning training. Finally, Chinese women'ice hockey team got the seventh in totally eight teams in Vancouver. In this paper, by using documentary method, field observations of the training of Chinese women's ice hockey team, interviews and questionnaires for the relevant experts, coaches and athletes, and mathematical statistics, have a comprehensive analysis to the strength and conditioning preparing the Chinese women's ice hockey team for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The results shows:1. The period of Chinese women's ice hockey team preparing for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games is divided into period of specialized training in physical fitness, ice-land with training period, period of warm-up match and final sprint four periods. In the preparation phase, the time for training courses are totally 601.25 hours, the total number of strength and conditioning training is 269.5 hours, about 45% of total training time. During different stage of preparation, the adjustment for training frequency and the training time of each course are based on the different task of the different stages, technical and tactical training, warm-up match, and the final Olympic games.2. Preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics, The setting for content of strength and conditioning training of Chinese women's ice hockey team's physical training is based on the need for ice hockey, with the main task of the different stage of preparation, the athlete's status and the final goal. And the setting of the training time and sessions for different content in different stages is based on these too. 3. Preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the methods and means of strength and conditioning training of Chinese women's ice hockey team are well-combined of special characteristics for ice hockey, training methods and means of relatively new and diverse. But the coaches and athletes believe that the special training methods and means need to be improved in the future.4. Preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the load adjustments of Chinese women's ice hockey team's strength and conditioning training are based on the main tasks of each different stage of preparation, the athlete's status, and the final Olympic game. The adjustment of the load mainly through training time, repetition, practice group number, running distance to adjust. The adjustment of the intensity of training mainly through the weight load, running speed, intermittent time to adjust. Studies have shown that the adjustment is relatively load and scientific and reasonable.5. In preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics, it is carried out 7 times of fitness tests, to monitor and feedback physical indicators for the athletes. The results showed that the indicators monitored athletes has increased accordingly, which reduced body fat, the results of squat, bench press, pull, push-ups,60 meter race and other indicators have been significantly improved.
