The development of student entity, the democratization and individualization of teaching are put in the first place with the continuous research and development in modern education. In the process of teaching, teachers are supposed to encourage students to learn and do research actively so that their ability will be cultivated to gain new knowledge independently and learn creatively with the guide of teachers.The thesis focuses on investigating the design and the content of the class exercises in the present high school mathematics class and finds a series of problems such as exercises with weak pertinence. As is known to all, we can't put too much emphasis on designing effective class exercises in teaching. At present, however, quite a few teachers design simplifying class exercises, which lack application and association with practical problems and real life so that students can not settle practical problems by means of the knowledge of mathematics. It prevents students improving ability of applying mathematics. Aimed at the problems above, the thesis conducts analysis and research of the exercise design in mathematics class according to the theories of modern education and daily teaching practice and reflection.In the high school mathematics curriculum content, the sequence plays an important role in high school mathematics and is also widely applied in the real life. Moreover, the study of the sequence can develop students'ability of observation, analysis and reasoning. Therefore, to study the class exercise design on the sequence can enhance the practice of the high school mathematics teaching.Reading a great many references, using the methods of surveying and interviewing students and some qualified math teachers, studying behavior, analyzing the data, the thesis concludes the difficulty, the number of questions and the syllabus which are supposed to be taken into consideration when designing class exercises in high school mathematics and provides proof for the study of the class exercise effectiveness of the chapter on the sequence.I believe that when it comes to the effective design of class exercise of the sequence, both the feature of the teaching content and the student factors should be taken into account and it is also closely related to the teacher's teaching style. So the factors determining whether the exercises are effective or not are complicated. However, effective class exercise design can not only help students to review the knowledge learnt in the courses, but also promote their ability development to some extent. By means of class exercises, teachers can enhance interaction with students, help them build confidence, develop their capability of cooperation and study, promote the development of their personality and comprehensive qualities.
