In recent years, teaching video resource has become the mainstream resource form for teacher education. For the need of deeper application, teachers expect they could operate video resources as conveniently as text resources. Many domestic and foreign researchers put forward that the newest trend of video technology applied to teacher education is developing video annotation tools to help teachers annotate teaching video conveniently. Taking the video annotation tools in video sharing platform as example, the paper discusses the important role of video annotation tools in teacher education.The paper introduces research status of annotation and teacher education based on teaching video cases, and then puts forward research objective and research methods. Before discussing the application of video annotation tools, the paper firstly generally introduces teaching video sharing platform from the aspects of general introduction, oriented users and basic functions, then introduces user interface and functions of video annotation tool, and emphatically expounds four core functions related with annotation tools, which are video evaluation, video ranking, video sharing and full-text retrieval. Education application of video annotation tools is then discussed from the aspects of teacher self-learning and growth, building and developing learning communities, instruction research and training for normal students. After inviting teachers and normal students using video annotation platform, the author collects questionnaire data, analyzes users'real experience and explores the practical application value of video annotation tool.
