In China, Tae Kwon Do has started to develop since the 1990s, and some partial ranks have entered the world advanced level through the years' endeavor of coach and the athletes. There are increasing persons who engage in Tae Kwon Do movement, and the number has added up to 2,600,000. It is sure that Tae Kwon Do in China is a promising sport. In July 2010, Xinjiang has held successfully the World Cup Competition of Tae Kwon Do, which obviously will promote the development of Tae Kwon Do of Xinjiang and even the whole China. Simultaneously, the Chinese Tae Kwon Do Association announced that they will even greatly support the development of Tae Kwon Do in Xinjiang area.This thesis takes the course of Tae Kwon Do of Xinjiang sports colleges as its object. Some main study methods adopted are documentary, questionnaire, interview and homepage browsing. Research contents are teachers, teaching references, space and equipment of sports colleges, and objective and mission, teaching contents of Tae Kwon Do course, and so on. This paper puts out the importance of Tae Kwon Do reform from aspects of social demands, course development, and self-development of students. Also, this thesis points out the insufficiency of nowadays' contents of Tae Kwon Do, such as shortage of space and equipment, differences of teaching references, stressing on competitive sports and despising public sports, paying more attention to skills than to theories, depth and extension of curriculum contents, neglecting of students' innovation ability, and so on. And some other factors are concerned in this paper, such as social demands which is multilevel, dynamic and serve as the directors of Tae Kwon Do movement. Then this thesis takes teacher and students' assessment on Tae Kwon Do's theories, technique and skills into consideration. All the above as well as curriculum rules as basis, this thesis puts forward the new contents of college Tae Kwon Do which are constituted by theories, skill and applying abilities. The theoretical part is formed by Tae Kwon Do's conspectus, terminologies, etiquettes and teaching, gymnastics' composing, competitions' organization and referee laws, training methods, and its relationship with health and public body-building. The skill part of Tae Kwon Do contents its basic action and technologies, competitive and public Tae Kwon Do, gymnastics and stunts. The applying abilities are made up by the ability of obtaining and using Tae Kwon Do technologies, practical work capability, abilities as a referee or teacher or even trainer, creative and health care ability, and the ability of designing and writing theses.This new system is based on thorough analysis of existing curriculum contents of Tae Kwon Do. It makes suggestions in allocating teaching time and emphasis as well as unifying teaching references which means the new system can serve as foundation for the contents'reform in Xinjiang even our country. And it is benefit to talents cultivation as well as development of Tae Kwon Do movement.
