Education is a career full of caring. The teachers should not only set up the awareness of caring for the students, but also know about caring and how to care, which are exactly the requirements of teachers' caring ability. Specifically, it requires the teachers improve five aspects including attention ability, interpersonal intelligence, reconsidering ability, comprehensive knowledge utilization ability and ability to establish a caring relationship. As we know, caring issues in education emerge in an endless stream. It has a direct connection with our long-term neglection, which leads us to focus on the teachers themselves, and reconsider the issues through their caring abilities. Therefore, it provided us a stating point to solve the caring issues in education by discussing the status and promoting measures of cultivating teachers' caring ability.In this thesis, questionnaire method was mainly applied, supplemented by unstructured interviews and participant observation method. A survey of three schools in Chongqing and Sichuan Province is made to analyze the status of teacher's caring ability. Then the theoretical analysis and investigation are combined to analyze the current situation and find the deficiencies. Based on the found problems, it put forward some reasonable suggestions to develop the teacher's caring ability.This thesis is divided into four parts:The first chapter is introduction. It shows the social background of teacher's caring ability and describes the significance of the topic. The research methods are introduced briefly as well.The second chapter provides the theory construction of teacher's caring ability. It interprets the meaning of caring and defines teacher's caring ability. Additionally, the necessity of caring-ability-building is illustrated by four dimensions including the background, existence of life, educational significance and training students to learn to care.The third chapter is based on the investigation. It clarifies the status of teacher's ability in five aspects. According to the survey, it's high time that teacher's caring ability be improved. In view of existing problems, the causes are analyzed. The last chapter is based on the holistic approach and analysis. The measures of cultivating teacher's caring ability are put forward by analyzing the relationship among students, teachers and external support system.
