Comparative Research On The Chinese And Western University Humanism

Humanism is the soul of university education,and promoting could ben the mission of universities.Universities not only teach students the professional knowledge,but also train their humanistic qualities.University humanism can provide the inspiration for students to their rational developments,and open their minds,and expand their views,and make them to be comprehensive people.Our country is in the period of economic transformation, the collision of multiple values and the lack of moral belief and the defects of education system are now impacting the universities.The influence make the universities to coordinate with society,and make the traditional humanism from weak to weaker.The improve of university concept and the restore of humanism have been the important issues that our higher education needs to face.This paper bases on the explaining of content and relationship of university and humanism and liberal education,consequently compares the history and understanding of orientation and realization between chinese and western university humanism,and deeply explores the reason of chinese university humanism,and definitude the necessity and urgency of promoting university humanism in new era.This paper energetically explores the developing directions of university humanism that meet our universities'status through gaining experience from the construction of western university humanism and the promoting of our country's universities'traditional humanities.
