Germany was influenced by new humanism's view of university at the beginning of the19th century. Under the leadership of people such as Humboldt etc., the reforms of Germanuniversities represented by Berlin University had obtained enormous success. Both religiousand social factors as well as the thought of university of German scholars at the end of the18th and the beginning of the 19th century represented by Schiller, Kant, Schelling had allplayed important role in forming new humanism's view of university. What's more, th?foundationof Halle University and Gottingen University had generated important impacts on the formingof new humanism's view of university. New humanism's view of university maintained thatuniversities should train all-round developed persons, carry on pure scientific research, keepindependent organizations, academic freedom, as well as teaching and scientific research beunified and harmonized .In the 19th century, under the influence of new humanism's view of university, theestablishment of Berlin University had marked a batch of new-type universities' coming intobeing in Germany. The system of Seminar had also been enriched and improved. Some traditionalGermany universities had carried on certain corresponding innovations, too. German new-typeuniversities had become institutions to form university students' good training andcharacteristics. What's more, they had promoted the status of the institute of philosophy, andat the same time paid great attention to the cultivation of university students' scientificspirit and academic freedom spirit.
