The quality of higher education is the lifeline of its own existence and development. Since 1980s, it has sprung up a great movement in higher education quality assurance fields all over the world. As van ward countries, both the UK and the USA established sound and equitable quality assurance systems of higher education from which we can learn a lot. Relatively speaking, the research on higher education quality assurance systems in our country started lately, there has not formed perfect quality assurance systems so far. Therefore, it is valuable and meaningful for our country to construct and perfect higher education quality assurance systems by analyzing quality assurance systems of developed country. This also is the purpose of our study. By using the methods of documentation, history, comparison and case analysis, we endeavor to explore how higher education quality assurance systems in Britain and America come into being, what the framework of them and how they to work.Meanwhile we analyze the operation mechanism of The London School of Economics and Political Science and Georgia Institute of Technology in microscopic perspectives, so that we can have more comprehensive and deep understanding of higher education quality assurance systems in Britain and America.Action may attack the jade. Based on these studies, finally we find many problems and insufficiencies existing in higher education quality assurance systems of our country and put forward some constructive countermeasures to solve them by reference the precious experience of the UK and the USA.
