Boxing, as the competitive sport, has developed rapidly in recent years, and had a good performance in the international competition, but the level of the players is usually not normal. The problems that the adult boxers showed may be related with.the lack of the basic training that the boxers should take part in at the age of the juvenile. Based on the existing study, this study, considering the training system and the reality of the management, investigated and researched the basic training of the youth boxers by use of observation, investigation, testing, mathematical statistics and other methods. The 13-17 year-old boxers who registered at the State Sports General Administration of Sports Management Center Boxing Teakwood and the coaches who attended the 2009 National Junior Boxing Championship are the objects of the study. But the main object of the study is the Boxing Team of sports School in Qingdao City. The highlights of the study are mainly focused on the basic situation of the youth boxing coaches and the status of the boxing athletes reserved and the training status of athletes by the means of questionnaire and actual research, so as to could find the problems mentioned above and could make some reasonable suggestions. Aiming to promote the basic training process and provide a reliable theoretical guidance and practical basis for the boxing coaches and athletes, the study reached the following conclusions:1. Most youth boxing coaches are retired professional athletes, in the prime of life age, running the shorter training period, less educated, imbalance of structural of knowledge, training level is not high.2. Youth boxers are uneven geographical distribution and the reserved ones are in short; in the 13-17 age range, the number of youth athletes involved in boxing training was significantly decreased with age decreasing.3. Youth boxers are mainly engaged in skills training at the stage of the basic training. But the skills training is not just only learning the boxing technology itself, but also to emphasize the right technique maintained by the athletes when they are facing a series of a variety of offensive and defensive changes in competition.4. Youth boxing coach neither provide an effective means of monitoring the load in the process of training, nor make a scientific assessment of athletes physical condition, which made the athletes load too excessive or too small and affected the training effect.5. The test of reaction time, skin threshold and heart rate could effective detect whether the youth boxers are in exercise fatigue. As the testing process is relatively simple, and relatively easy to analyze, it is suitable for monitoring the youth boxers whether in exercise fatigue or not.
