"CPC Central Committee and State Council on Deepening Educational Reform and Promoting Quality Education Decision" has claimed that clearly applying quality education asks for an organic unification of moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic in every link of education. School education should pay attention to intellectual as well as moral. It also should enhance physical, aesthetic, labor technology and social practice and make every aspect infiltrate mutually and develop coordinately and promote the all-round development of the students and healthy growth.The school sports should implement "health first" thought comprehensively to really strengthen the school sports work. The sports education in the new era emphasizes health, happiness and vigorously advocates people-orientation. It also emphasizes students' needs, interests and developments of sports centered on subject and society and embodied individualization. Working as a critical link, secondary education is an important part of education in China and a turning point in life. In order to train talents for the 21st century, secondary education should adapt to the development trend of modern education and advance with the times.People of modern society pursue not only mere health and sweet but also up to beauty and reflection of beauty and temperament, which spawned a series of projects in which sports and art combined very closely. So many high schools have introduced sports and art projects and established relative courses and also organized the students to take part in national youth competitions. Sports and art course is an indispensable part of physical and healthy course. Based on the literature material law, interview, questionnaire and mathematical statistics for research methods, the writer had a research in six middle schools in Wuhan city,400 students and eight teachers as the research object. Firstly, identify sports and art concept and content of the project through processing and analyzing the literature material. Secondly, reveal the existing problem through investigating the application situation of sports and art course. Finally, put forward corresponding countermeasures through the study of this issue and provide corresponding reference for the healthy and steady development of sports and art courses among the school sports. Though the investigation of the application situation of sports and art course in some regular middle school in Wuhan, this thesis suggests that: 1. The application situation of sports and art course in the middle school in Wuhan is quite good. It plays a vital role in aesthetic education and cultivating students' confidence and creativity. But it still lack of universality.2. Sports and art courses concentrate in aerobics, body dance and lama drilling and lack of diversity.3. The relevant department leaders ignore the important of sports and art teaching.4. Due to the characteristics of this project, teachers in middle schools in Wuhan tend to be very young and professional teachers are comparatively few.5. The arrangement of teaching hour is not very reasonable. The achievement assessments merely focus on technology evaluation and ignore the importance of other evaluation.6. The atmosphere of "sports arts" is not strong. Facilities and equipment are not perfect and lack of new corresponding equipment and materials.7. The implementation of extra-curricular activities is not good enough.
