"Ancient Chinese Poetry Prose Appreciation" is one of the elective curriculums which is set up for those first-year senior middle school students in HuBei Province, it is a developing course. It mainly has two functions:the first is to expand the students' knowledge and ability; the second is to develop students' interests and expertise. Classroom teaching is the platform of these two functions. In the class, teacher should guide the students to read poems and prose on purpose, so as to enable them to have the ability to appreciate those ancient poems step by step. And during this process their literary background is formed, their interests in Chinese are stimulated, and their character is high-lightened. To achieve these purposes, effective teaching method is the key point. And the following is what I'm going to try:first of all, reciting poems. TaoXingzhi once said, Chinese is a course which should be learned by reciting. And this method is especially suitable for poem appreciation. Students should recite with their emotion, only by this way can they find out the charm of poems. Secondly, rich imagination will help students to comprehend the ancient poems. In process of reciting students can try to draw a picture in their minds, which is helpful to trace back and to feel the authors' heart. Finally, experience should be strengthened. Ask students to find out those similar sceneries in their daily life, which is a wonderful way to cross from this moment to the past.How to improve students' interest in learning, how to stimulate the student's desire for knowledge, how to cultivate their ability are the purposes of language teaching. According to this and based on the characteristics of this courseâ… adopt these methods: sense appreciation, interactive reading, reflection reading, exploring reading, and etc. These methods are effectively utilized in the teaching process, and they have successfully helped the students to improve their ability in both learning and appreciating.And this course pays great concentration on practice. After-class activities are important. When teaching, teachers should try hard to utilize social resource, they should hold more culture expedition, literary creation so as to expand the teaching activities. And only by this way can students go out of the classroom teaching and step into the nature and the society. And consequently, the students formed their literary consciousness.
